What air pressure should. I start with?
I normally run 35 on the street and the Max listed on the sidewall is 44. Joe |
What tires are you running? You are probably pretty good at 35. Being your first time, it won't matter much, except for how much of the tires edge you'll punish.

They are a cheap tire that I never heard of before (Ill look when I get home).
They where on the car when I bought it 3 and a half years ago, the tread looks perfect but I'm sure they are harder then when new. |
Oh wow, you'll be slip slidin' for sure. Just make sure all the tires are aired up the same, and go for it. Expect a spin out or two...but that's not a bad thing your first time out.

I've had several brands of performance tires on my various cars in the past, from patrol cars, Camaro's, Corvette, and now my Cadillac CTS V. By far the best are a set of Maxxis MA-Z1's. Quiet and excellent traction, the warmer it is the better they stick. They will get lumpy when temps drop below 50*, but they smooth out after you drive a mile or two as they warm up.
My CTS-V has a "g" meter built in and with those tires it has pulled .96 g's. These tires would be awesome on an autocross track. If you look around you can find them for less than $200.00 apiece. The down side is they wear out quick. I think I only got about 15-16K miles out of them, but I was pretty hard on them. They just beg you to drive them hard. Give 'em a try, I think you'll like them. |

The only tire I have been able to find in the stock size is the BFG g force sport comp-2.
I should probably try to find some 17 inch wheel for more options! |
