Sanibel Island - June, 2015

Finally got the videos I took ready to massage into something I can post up onto YouTube, so I'm going to start processing them one day at a time. With some of them, I'm going to be putting three videos together into one clip, since some days I had three camcorders running on the roof of the beach house we were renting. Sounds like overkill, I know, but I found myself wishing I had a fourth one to cover that missing quadrant of the compass. Oh well, maybe next time.

Anyway, here's a video of us crossing over the Sanibel Island Causeway to get onto the island on June 1.

This video is of the drive once we got onto the island of Sanibel, till we pulled up to the beach house we had rented. Wish we had taken the omen of the service truck being in the driveway when we got there for the omen it turned out to be....

Here's a video of the beach house that Connie and I stayed at. Called the "Escapade". I actually took this video the day we left, so some things like the swimming pool look a lot nicer that they did when we got there. You also can't see all the dead bugs that were all over the floors. Even overlooking that, yeah it looks nice, but man it had even more problems. The oven wouldn't run for more than 20 minutes. None of the ceiling fans on the second floor would work. The AC conked out and had to call for repairs. Some of the ceiling lights were out and even the fixtures were gone. Couldn't open up the doors from the second floor bedrooms onto the balconies because the shutters extended down too far and blocked the doors. If we had wanted to watch DVD videos, the procedure was to load the DVD into the player IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM and then head on back to the living room before the movie starts.

Anyway, Royal Shell Vacations apparently knew about the problems, as several of the service people we talked to mentioned that the problems were well known to them. But to give credit where it is due, Royal Shell did offer us a partial refund to compensate for the "inconvenience". Still, had we known of all the problems we were going to face before getting there, we never would have stayed at that house.

But anyway, you can probably see why we had real high hopes when we first showed up there.

06-01-2015 cloud time lapse

So now I start in with the time lapse videos I took from the roof of the beach house we were staying in. Most days I had multiple camcorders running, so I've combined all of the cameras running into one video incorporating all the views rather than making separate video clips of each. The following one is actually similar to one I posted in another thread here, but I noticed that the GoPro footage was running faster than it should be. So I corrected that in this video.

06-02-2015, rain storm time lapse

This is a VERY short time lapse because what I thought was going to be a nice rain storm over the Gulf of Mexico turned into a rain storm over Sanibel. So I had to pull the camcorder in before the actual downpour hit.
