Just a question
I saw a Sheriff's Office cruiser the other day, I think Pinellas, that had two gadgets mounted to each side of the back of the car. Kind of on the quarter panels. They sorta looked like cameras/radar. I hadn't seen that before. Strangely enough, a couple of days later I saw another cruiser that had two circles/covers in that same spot. Anyone know what they are?

License plate scanners:
http://alt.coxnewsweb.com/cnishared/..._licensereader (tried to attach a pic but of course....:shrug01::rolleyes:-just right click-copy/paste to browser for photo) The plates you saw were probably mounting points. It's an extra set of eyes in the fight against auto theft. Of course it's going to pick up the BS traffic/parking tickets and such too:lmao: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/loc...,6025039.story http://www.foxformayor.com/pdfs%20fo...%208.24.08.pdf http://www.policeone.com/police-prod...-license-tags/ |
Thanks Gordon, I had no idea. How are you doing?

I'm doing well, thanks:thumbsup:
Still vett-less (for now) but there's bigger and better things on the horizon:dancer01: These things are not new technology. They've been out and in use for a couple years here in the bay area, just not a lot of them. Take care and I'll talk to you soon, Have a great Easter. Gordon |
