Tropical Storm Alberto

Looks like a rain maker. Hopefully it won't develop into anything stronger.

It is very ragged with all the weather east of the low or center. Just clouds and light rain for us so far.
|
I've been watching the radar around the Sanibel area, and I think it's a good thing we decided not to go there this year. We tended to like May more than June because the rains seemed to set in there during June, but it looks like this year they are starting real early. We would have probably spent most of our time at the book stores looking for things to read while we were rained in. And we can do that here at home.

Well, it looks like the storm is over with. I just went to the storm tracking page (http://www.intellicast.com/Storm/Hurricane/Track.aspx) and they are now saying:
There are currently no active tropical storms reported. :shrug01: |
Sunny here and not much rain at all.
|
We are getting some heavy rain right now as bands move through. Got 0.58 inches so far today.
|
Getting ready to hit the hay. Rain gauge is showing 0.94 inch of rain today, as of now.
|
Surprisingly little rain here in Tallahassee too. A whopping 51 Talquin electric customers out of power.....but that may get worse as the day goes.
|
Yeah, I didn't think this would amount to much. We've got an accumulation of 1.19 inches of rain so far, with some moderate wind knocking a few branches out of the trees. Hopefully no tornadoes will spin off from the landfalling arms of the storm.
Looks like the center will be making landfall around Panama City. |
