Forum is now Tapatalk enabled

I brought this topic up a while back with my programmer, and come to find out that it was darn lucky that we didn't enable Tapatalk earlier. Evidently one or more exploits in the Tapatalk code got quite a few message board sites compromised and caused them some messy problems from hackers. But from what my programmer tells me, these appear to have been resolved now.

So with that in mind, I asked him to install the Tapatalk interface code here, and it should be working now. But in the admin section, the switch to enable the Tapatalk code says this:

Quote:

Tapatalk for Mobile Web is our new offering of fast, efficient, cross platform mobile web experience for forums. Currently supports only basic Read-Only feature, with option to open discussion using Desktop version. Enable Mobile Web version of Tapatalk?
Not sure exactly what that means. To me, it infers that the site will be READ ONLY using Tapatalk from a mobile device. But someone else will have to test this. If so, seems kind of silly to me to have even gone through the trouble of installing the code if no one can actually participate via the mobile devices. But maybe I'm just reading that wrong. I can't understand why anyone would even need a "desktop version" of Tapatalk since on a desktop computer I would think most people would just use their regular browser.

Someone let me know, please.

I changed a setting to see if that makes a difference. Unfortunately I cannot test any of this myself, as I do not use mobile devices to access the internet.

Ah, I think I found the problem. There is an enabling key code that was plugged into the wrong prompt in the admin page. Try it again and let me know, please.

All this high faluttin' techy stuff is very cool, and I think we've come a long way communication-wise, and then some, but I STILL have little or no use for a smart phone. I think I'm one of the few remaining dinosaurs who uses a phone just to make and receive phone calls. :shrug01:

I also think it's cool of you to add this Tapatalk app which will enhance the forum experience so those of us on the go can stay involved and in touch easier.

Actually the only reason I have a cell phone is in case I have an emergency on the road. I don't use it at all. And as for using one to view the internet on that little iddy-biddy screen, not going to happen. I'd go blind or have a permanent squint.

Seriously young kids should be thinking hard about a career in ophthalmology. Going to be a WHOLE lot of people with eye strain problems in their later years.
