How many of you guys have a Concealed Weapons Permit?

I got one as soon as I could after moving down to Florida. I wasn't allowed to have one when I lived in Maryland.

Maryland is a 'may issue' state which means they probably won't.

Here's a good link, especially if you're going to travel.

got mine, applied for it the day after i turned 21 and haven't been a day without it since (good for 5 years so after my last renewal i am good until 2013). Georgia's is stupid easy to get when compared to Florida's.

I think in '08 they went to 7 years. You must have just missed it.

my wife got hers in 2009 and my father in law got his a few months ago and all are 5 year.

this may have changed when HB308 was passed and it changed from a Firearms License to a Weapons License. they clarified a lot of the gray areas in the law and may have extended the date on it because the cost did go up.

OK, I just checked and this is a quote and a link.

"Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm Licenses issued on or after Wednesday, June 11, 2008, are valid for a period of seven years. "

I wonder what the deal is?

Both the Little Lady and I have ours and practice weekly at the range. She can lay down a 10" pattern at 21 feet with her Glock 17, her prefered carry.
Don't mess with Grandma

We both have a 26. Grandma must have a big purse. :D
