2nd Annual Daytona Dram Cruise Story

4 Attachment(s)
Hi guys!
Have I got a story to show and tell:
Just had to take LOVE back out when the Dream Cruise came around this past weekend. Had a blast driving all over Daytona along with 3,000 other hot rodders from all over.
Great car shows, cruising up and down A1A followed by the initial first showing of the new film coming out in December or January called "Duce of Spades" on the river banks of the intercostal waterway. What a way to end a lovely day.
On the way home around midnight I was really into the ride and as I left the city for the long open road heading down to New Smyrna, I had to stop at the last traffic light before miles of open road. I quickly took a look around for the man and not seeing any I waited for the light to change with my friend Bear in his custom Buick wagon and my wife in our Crossfire behind me. All I could see were their headlights and when the light went green, I went to the floor with the gas! Shifted from first to second and took it through 2nd then let off in about 4 seconds somewhere in the neighborhood of 130MPH. That's when I saw the red and blue lights flashing behind me in the far distance through the smoke I had left. I pulled over and waited for him as he pulled in behind me. :banghead:
I started to get out and hand him my driver's license and that's when he told me I didn't have to get out of the car that he only wanted to get a good look at the car. He said he was in traffic behind my wife and was trying to run my tag to see what kind of car it was when I took off. He then advised me that my tag had expired several weeks ago on my birthday, but not to worry about it.
My wife came up and told the deputy (as she was smiling now) that she had told my friend Bear & his wife Laura on the cell phone, "I'm goiing to kill him when I get him home!":ack2::toetap05:
The deputy and I talked about the car on the side of the road for almost a half hour as he took photo after photo of it. I opened the hood and he took more photos. As I pulled out and headed home, he waved and turned around and went the other way.
Great ending for a great weekend.:dancer01:
Now LOVE will have to sit till we get some money to renew the tags or someone finally comes through with the money to buy it as two have said they want to. At least I have this last added memory to savor for the next month or so.

Some days you get the bear, other days the bear gets you! What can I say. :shrug01: I'm very grateful for the break!
It pays to have a wild car I guess. :yesnod:

Still here, but doesn't look like for much longer, finally.
Two guys are competing to be the new owner.
One in Kansas, the other in Canada.
As I said in the story, the tags were NOT renewed (so much money since Fla raised it's fees i just don't have these days) and Love is no longer is being driven, waiting on the final sale now.
Sure hurts, but we have to do what we have to do to survive these times.:shrug01:
