Are you stock? I've never taken any car I've had to the track. July will be the first time. I'll be at Beech Bend in Kentucky for the Z06Fest. No clue what I'll be able to do.

yes stock, down to the tires.
I wont get your hopes up on the first time.
my first time I did 12.9 and went down from there

I've been to the track one time in my life to actually run. MANY years ago with my '66 GTO. Did a lot of work on that car. Even with nearly all of first gear going up in smoke, I still pulled a 13 second run. I think it is just like anything else. It takes practice to get good at it. But bear in mind, EVERYTIME I went to the track as a spectator, I saw at least one person lose an engine. So there are risks involved. Those fire trucks standing by are there for a reason.

Make sure the rearend can take the windup/torque with the mickey thompsons.

Yeah, that's a good point. Your tires are the "circuit breaker" on your drivetrain. If you put tires on that won't break loose, then there is a chance something else may break loose instead. Something probably expensive to fix.

Just be careful not to break something while having fun.

True, I've went back to the track on the mickeys. better 60ft slightly better time. I havent found the sweetspot on them yet.
