Tropical depression #19 - 2020 (Hurricane Sally)

So now, out of the blue, a tropical depression (#19) pops up right at the Florida Keys, apparently destined to develop into a hurricane and eventually hit Louisiana. Again. Subject to change without notice, of course.

But I guess this IS the peak of hurricane season, isn't it?

Another miss for us.

I am sure not complaining! Looks like we might get some heavy rain from it this upcoming week. Figures, I have a lathe supposed to be delivered. Not easy to get a big truck down our road, so we usually arrange to meet the truck at the local Walmart and slide the package into the back of Connie's pickup truck. Hope we can do this between rainstorms.

Getting a BUNCH of rain from "Sally" here in Dunedin. I'm just glad that we are on the outer reaches of it. I feel for the Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans.

We have gotten nearly 4 inches of rain since Sunday from this storm. It is up to a Cat 2 storm now, I guess as a result of being stalled over open water like it is for so long. Hope it moves on along over land before it gets stronger.

Been getting heavy rain and wind off an on all day long. Power went out for about an hour. No idea how much rain we are getting because my weather station apparently crapped out. After the power came back on, it showed 1.51", and has been sitting there without change through some VERY heavy rain right now. Come to think of it, wind speed, wind direction, and outside temperature hasn't changed a bit neither. Sigh.... We probably have at least 1.51" of water in that stream I can see on the outside cameras that is our driveway.

Damn crap. I hate it when stuff fails right when you really want it to work the most.
