2015 C7 Z06 NEW CAR PREP - CQuartz Finest - Presidential Automotive Detailing - FL
I was recently contacted to perform a new car prep and Cquartz Finest application on this recently aquired 2015 Corvette Z06. We also performed a wheels-off service which includes removing each wheel to be hand polished and protected with Cquartz Finest inside and out. The calipers were also hand polished and coated to complete the package.
First off, WOW, what a beautiful machine! Not even two weeks into its life, its about to look even better than it came from the factory! http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...01-882x588.jpg Wheels As you can see, the owner has been enjoying it already. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...03-882x588.jpg Iron-X was used on the wheels to remove any embedded brake dust and road debris. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...04-882x588.jpg Initial wheel cleaning complete. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...05-882x588.jpg The rest of the car was cleaned using Optimum No Rinse, then every panel was clayed to ensure there were no contaminants embedded into the paint finish. Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of this step. Once the car was cleaned, each wheel was removed to be hand polished in preparation to be coated with Cquartz Finest Ceramic Coating. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...14-882x588.jpg This is also the perfect time to treat the undercarriage, all plastic was treat with CarPro DLUX. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...06-882x588.jpg Each caliper was then hand polished and coated with Cquartz Finest, which has been tested to easily withstand temperatures up to and over 800F. This makes it a great option to help protect the finish on the calipers with normal street use. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...09-882x588.jpg Each wheel was hand polished inside and out to bring out a deep shine, then coated with Cquartz Finest for complete protection. Applying Cquartz Finest to the wheels helps reduce brake dust build up and makes future cleaning much easier for the client. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...11-391x588.jpg After Polishing. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...10-882x588.jpg Wheels are now fully polished and protected. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...12-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...13-882x588.jpg Paint Correction With the wheels out of the way, I was able to turn my full attention to the paint finish. With the car only being a couple weeks old, it did not require a lot of correction, but there were some blemished in the paint that could still be removed. The light polishing will also bring up the gloss level from the factory finish before applying the Cquartz coating. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...17-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...67-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...69-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...72-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...73-882x588.jpg Here is an example of some of the defects that were found. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...15-882x588.jpg Now removed. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...16-882x588.jpg Some blemishes were also found in the roof panel. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...18-882x588.jpg Now removed. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...19-882x588.jpg |
Before.
http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...20-882x588.jpg After. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...21-882x588.jpg Even though the car was brand new, there were already some etchings from bird droppings. Bird droppings, love bugs and hard water are some of the worst possible things for your paint finish. They should be removed immediately, as they can cause permanent damage to very quickly. Luckily, we caught this on in time and everything was able to be removed with a a little heavier cut. Sorry, forgot to take a photo in the same lighting, full shots in the sun will follow! http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...22-882x588.jpg More blemishes found on the rear wing. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...24-882x588.jpg Now removed. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...25-882x588.jpg This spot was a bit odd to me, its possible it could be left over from the factory or caused during transport. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...26-882x588.jpg A closer look. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...27-882x588.jpg Now removed. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...71-882x588.jpg This spot appears to be from hard water resting for a long period of time, it was later removed by hand since a machine polisher cannot reach into this area. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...28-882x588.jpg The sun just happened to be peaking through at just the right angle for me to capture the true color of this beautiful machine before pulling it outside. http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...29-882x588.jpg CQuartz FINEST Ceramic Paint Coating The sun was dropping fast, so I decided to take my final photos after applying just a single layer of Cquartz Finest. Yes, this finish will still become deeper and achieve more gloss after 2 additional coats on top of this! http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...31-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...38-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...37-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...34-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...35-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...36-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...33-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...41-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...42-882x588.jpg http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...43-882x588.jpg |

Some amazing airbrush work went into this hood liner! http://presidentialdetailing.net/wp-...39-882x588.jpg |

Cost and time involved in doing correction and polishing on a C5 Z06. Basically what you did with the C7?
