New Site! CorvetteInternational.com

Been working on this for a bit now, and almost have all the pieces in place.

CorvetteInternational.com

This is running a beta version of the new vBulletin software, so obviously changes will take place in the background code running the joint. Shouldn't effect the overall use of the forum as far as you all are concerned, however.

It does limit me concerning bells and whistles I can add, though. I can't do very many changes to the underlying code as that would likely get wiped out during a new rendition of the software. I will say this, I REALLY miss the spell checker option over there..... :banghead: But that will be put in just as SOON as I can get it there.

I have been able to add a few things, however. The Photo Gallery is up, but the link isn't in the menu bar quite yet. Also installed a new chat system that is somewhat better than the one here, so check it out when you get a chance.

More things will be added as I find time and my programmer will let me...

BTW, what I did was to copy over the database from this site onto CorvetteInternational.com. So if you were registered here prior to December 17th, then you are registered there as well and need to just use the same login info that you use on this site. All threads and post up to that date were copied as well. Some of the graphics were borrowed from this site as well, but as soon as I can, those will be changed over to reflect the new site.

There are some new features in the new version software that are rather nice. One of the most interesting is the fact that we can put prefixes on threads in certain forums, which may make things more manageable than I had thought they may be. I was reluctant to put up separate categories for each of the various generations of Corvettes, and this prefix option is (I hope!) the perfect solution. Anyone wanting to brand their thread as being pertinent to a specific generation can easily do so. And from another perspective, readers can set the forum up so that if desired, ONLY a specific generation (via the prefix) will be visible. This also will be VERY beneficial in the classified section as well. Hopefully everyone will find this most useful and helpful without overly complicating the site with MANY more forums than I really wanted to have to deal with there.

So, why did I do this new forum site? Beats the heck out of me. :shrug01: Got to talking with a few of the guys here, and we felt that a new Corvette forum with an international scope might be fun to dink around with. Plus I get a new *toy* to play with..... :D So Merry Christmas to ME! :hehehe:

Anyway, check it out when you have a chance. The new software appears to be VERY fast, so quite likely when it is stabilized in a release version, I may see about upgrading this site as well.

I was over there playing around. I like the prefix function :hurray: You can pull up the posts for any generation you want to see in the for sale section without scrolling through all the posts . Very nice addition

Nice! Let's see how long it takes to "get out there" with no state boundry.

window decals like the ones for CorvetteFlorida.com? :hehehe:

If we do, some of us might have to buy a new Vette with a window large enough to fit CorvetteInternational.com! :lmao:

Yeah, Connie asked me what I was going to do about window decals. She said I should buy the new ZR1 and put the decals on that one..... :hehehe:
