(another) Snake Identification question?
 
very small critter...dark on top, bright orange underneath, 1 orange ring on it's neck?

It's called (suprisingly enough) a Ring-Necked Snake. They feed mostly on salamanders and earth worms. About as harmless as you can get.

I used to find tons of them when I lived in Maryland, but haven't seen too many here in Florida.

That's usually where I find them too. Hanging out on the automatic pool crawler's hose as it breaks the surface of the water.
