Wow, what a nice car. I liked everything I read except the 12 month warranty. This car is a force to be reckoned with!!

Factory Five Racing:

Build it yourself and save.

Yeah, the warranty for that kind of $$$ is crap:thumbsdown:

RevXtreme 1 01-03-2009 03:00 PM

Almost looks like the Factory Five GT super car. Uses C5-6 engine & a Porsche transaxle.....I love it!:dancer01:

Yeah, evidently Alans Autosports buys the Factory Five kit and then finds a donor car or buys new parts and builds the kit with them. That's what I can gather from their website.

The parts kit would likely be around $23K with the a/c heater package and all. A donor car could be an ealy C5 Z06 for around the same price, or a bit more if a later model with low mileage is wanted.

How many hours worth of labor involved to put this all together? Plus a decent paint job....

Looks like Alans Autosports wants between $30K and $50K to put one together for you. If you have the skills and the equipment to build one yourself, yeah, this would probably be the way to go about it.

But for me, nah, I don't feel qualified to tackle something like this myself.

Sure looks like a fun car to drive, though....

RevXtreme 1 01-03-2009 07:31 PM

I'd say $20-$30 to build & paint would be a good guess....I wanna do one in the future for myself!

Pretty sharp looking! But what does it cost?

But the attraction of the GTM is that any Chevy dealership could work on something that breaks on it. Of course, might take some convincing for the service writer to understand that.........

Guro305 05-25-2009 03:12 AM

I'd go Lingenfelter. Cheaper and still looks like a 'vette! Just my :twocents:
