Now The BS Starts

Here's the news:

Tucson, Ariz., six dead, including a federal judge, and critically wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who police said was the target of the attack.

"Federal authorities have located the store where Loughner legally purchased his gun, which was described as a pistol equipped with an extended magazine. Investigators reportedly found unspent bullets inside the gun at the scene."

They say he has a history of mental issues so how could he have purchased the gun legally?

I agree Bob........if this guy had an agenda and was intent???

If he didn't have a gun he would have made a bomb and killed even more. Let's restrict the sale of PVC pipe. ;)

It just shows that the system isn't perfect, and it never will be. But even if he had been denied purchasing the gun at the store, he could have bought one from an individual.

Exactly.
Been proven time after time.
Gun laws don't stop criminals.

If they're determined to use a firearm, they'll get one if they have to buy it on the black market, purchase from a private owner, steal or build one!

This is just more fodder by the press for the anti gunners:thumbsdown:

Charges were filed today by the Feds and they know what's coming from the liberal press this week. Why not charge him with illegal purchase? I think right now there are 6 charges pending and I'm sure more will be added.

Most of us know that one way or another the bad guys will get their weapons but there are some people that think prohibiting my rights will fix the problem. I guess I just needed to vent.

I think they used to call them a 'zip' gun. Don't know if they still do.

I never expected a sheriff to start the blame game. I guess his attitude is that Americans don't 'have a need to know' and that somehow information is a contributing factor to the violence in America. The link at the bottom will take you to the article.

"Heightened and "vitriolic" political rhetoric is being blamed by some for the kind of violence that landed Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in intensive care following a mass casualty shooting on Saturday, but others say a blame game is hardly appropriate or useful right now.

Pima County, Ariz., Sheriff Clarence Dupnik sparked much of the debate during a press conference Saturday evening in which he blamed talk radio and television for a decline in America."
