Sitting on Cpoupe Roof ??

For some of you folks who drive your cars (coupes) in parades and were wondering the consequences of letting someone sit on the halo portion of roof. The following threads offer some varying opinions.

Some helpful advise!!

Our club "TBV'S" does about 10 Homecomings a year and also a Christmas Parade coming up soon. The center support will hold alot of weight.

At our Homecomings we actually have two people on the coupes...the court young lady and her escort.

It's up to each of you to decide...we bring carpets like door mats to protect the paint and also one for the seat and center console.

 Trust me...you will be ok!!!

Done it for years with my '92 and several times with the '04. No problems. The only real concern is not having the rider step on the center console when getting up and down. Shoes off, towel on the top to sit on and no stepping on the console. Then enjoy the parade.

You'll be ok, it's designed to be rollover / crash protection. I don't think a 100lb ,,, or even a 300 lb (grin) homecoming queen will hurt it any. Just use a blanket to avoid scratching the paint with the sequins on the dress.

Exactly! That houses an integral roll bar, part of the cars structural integrity. Look at the many crash pic (rollovers) and how they hold up.

Only other thing I might add would be to be careful of the weatherstripping when they get up and down (sit, don't slide;))
