The Southwest Florida Vette Gazette is published monthly by the Southwest Florida Corvette Club, Inc. Sponsored by America's First Home Gene Suggs Division President 2007 SWFCC OFFICERS President: Judy Galewski 239-574-2571 jmgalewski@earthlink.net VP Ways & Means: Marshall Lieberman 239-762-2882 marshalll@comcast.net VP Competition: Dominic DiBattista 239-574-8204 janddincc@earthlink.net Secretary: Joan DiBattista 239-574-8204 janddincc@earthlink.net Treasurer: Sue Burch 239-936-3165 ssb3165@comcast.net NCCC Governor: Bev Dobbins 239-283-1452 bevdob@aol.com Web Master & Club Photographer Linda Duschl LJDuschl@comcast.net Public Relations Chairperson Armando Sampedro ALS2052 @earthlink.net Website: www.swflcorvetteclub.com E-mail address: info@swflcorvetteclub.com President’s Message: Just a note to thank all who were at the meeting on Tuesday. The diet contest turned out great; I was treated to dinner as Bill took third place. I totally enjoyed my Double Cheeseburger off of the dollar menu on the way home. (Bill also admitted that his weight loss was due to having an eight pound cataract removed from his right eye.) Congratulations to Ron and Elaine Rupp who didn’t have to have surgery to win first and second place respectively. Glenn Hutchinson was our guest speaker. Glenn is the Regional Representative of the NCCC and the President of the Corvettes of Naples. He welcomed all of us to join their Club in future events. And we thank him for joining us. We have developed two new chair positions for the SWFL Corvette Club, and we thank Armando Sampedro and Linda Duschl for accepting to fill these chairmanships. I have just a few more words that you might find interesting: Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties. The first man had married a woman from Ohio, and bragged that he had told his wife she was going to do all the dishes and house-cleaning that needed to be done at their house, and to clean the wheels of his Corvette. He said that it took a couple days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were all washed and put away, but the Corvette had not been touched. The second man had married a woman from the East Coast. He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking, and make sure that the windows on his Corvette were spotless. He told them that the first day he didn't see any results, but the next day it was better. By the third day, his house was clean, the dishes were done, and he had a huge dinner on the table, but the Corvette had not been touched. The third man had married a Wisconsin girl. He boasted that he told her that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed and hot meals on the table for every meal and keep her hands off his Corvette. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn’t see anything, but by the third day most of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye. Enough to fix himself a bite to eat, load the dishwasher, and telephone a landscaper and refill the gas tank on the Corvette. Got to love those Wisconsin girls!! Judy Galewski (BTW…..I’m from Wisconsin.) Meeting Minutes for March 20, 2007 The meeting was called to order by Judy Galewski at 7:03 PM. Judy welcomed our special guest - Glenn Hutchinson, the Regional Executive of the NCCC and asked him to say a few words. Glenn’s goal is to attend the meetings of all the NCCC clubs over the next two years. At the first regional meeting for the NCCC, Glenn spoke about The Future Corvette Owners Group that has been created for children from Birth to age 15. The cost is a one-time charge of $5.00 per child. This is a great way to introduce the next generation to the Corvette experience. Also, there is a scholarship available for your children for $750 from the NCCC. More information is available on the Web site. Glenn also indicated that we were invited to all Corvettes of Naples events and we can go on their dinner cruises.
