Light repairs

We have a 1989 convertible. The courtesy lights on the doors and the stop-high mounted light on the rear do not work. The place where we have the car serviced has told us that in order to replace the bulbs in the door that the door panels have to be removed and to repair the rear light that the fender has to be removed. This seems unreasonable. Are we being properly informed.

We are new to this forum and any feed back would be appreciated.

Thank you

:welcome: Good to have you here. I will defer the question to someone who knows the answer. It does seem excessive to have to remove a fender to change a light bulb though. Someone will come along with some help for you. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your problem:thumbsup: ................Tom :)

Not sure about the '89, but when I got my '02, both front turn signal bulbs were busted. No, I don't have any idea how that happened, but those amber glass pieces are STILL in there. I watched the tech replaced the bulbs and it was no real picnic. Had to go through the front brake vents in the front bumper to get to them. So it really wouldn't surprise me at all if your car was built around those bulbs. Wish someone would make LED replacements for those things so they would last about forever.
