Onkyo HT-S770 6.1 Home Theater System
This was my first jump into a home theater system, and it turned out to be a really nice set up. But, of course, one thing led to another, and next thing I know I have the dining room FILLED with speakers and audio stuff...... Connie as just about ready to compost me....... http://reviews.cnet.com/home-theater...-30903741.html http://shopping.yahoo.com/p:Onkyo%20...HNlYwNiZ3NpYg- - http://www.amazon.com/Refurbished-On.../dp/B00078COL8 http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/home...ems/m/2761609/ MSRP $500 This was not used for very long, so it all works like new. Asking $300. Pickup or meeting convenient to both parties requested. Sorry about the dust specs. I'm browsing..................
Hey does it have alot of good low end bass thump? I am looking for a stereo surround system for my TV that makes the windows rattle when explosions happen in movies.... or when something happens like dinosaurs in Jurassic Park slam around..... My current system has good highs, I want better low frequencies.... |
Yeah, the subwoofer has pretty good thump to it. But bear in mind to get that bone rattling subsonic base you need a sub that will cost about three times this entire system. Long throw, high power LARGE speakers get pretty expensive. You can also increase the base response by adding smaller and cheaper subwoofers as well.
One EXCELLENT technique to use with a subwoofer is to put it right behind the seating area where you sit to watch movies. Creates kind of a "sofa shaker" effect. Now if you are only looking for a real good add on subwoofer, here's what I would recommend: http://www.earthquakesound.com/supernova15.htm Get the 15 inch model. Trust me, you will LIKE it...... :hehehe: |

MSRP $1,899 MSRP $2,599.00 MSRP $2,599.00 MSRP $2,999.00 WOW<<< Better be good speakers for this price////whew! What kind of watts are needed to push this bad boy? |
If you look hard enough and have patience, you can find them MUCH cheaper on Ebay.
I don't know what the current draw is, but I will tell you this about that particular subwoofer... The first time I cranked it up, when the low notes kicked it into gear, it actually and TRULY blurred my vision. I had heard about that sort of an effect with high powered subwoofers, but prior to that moment had never actually experienced it. Of course, after that I toned down the beast quite a bit for normal listening. :hehehe: |

Alright, sounds like I should buy it and give it a whirl...
I will get with you Rich in PM's to try and work something out for picking it up. I don't have any plans to go north to your neck of the woods anytime soon so I will have to give it some thought on where and when we can meet up. PM me for discussions on what we will do to make it happen. |
