got a ticket

Hi, new member here. Just need some feedback. So I got a ticket in a speed trap on I-75 by aircraft doing 88 in a 70 (Hillsborough County). My last ticket was 5 yrs ago, and I have only 1 left of driving school option. Anyway, I received a flyer from a traffic attorney office from the law firm of The Ticket Clinic. I called them for info. and they would represent me in court for a fee of 89.95 Has anyone in Tampa Bay area used them and is it worth a shot? I have never hired an attorney before. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

:welcome:And as mentioned, stop in and introduce yourself when you get a moment. Glad to have you aboard.

To answer your question, most of these ticket "clinics" are nothing more than "mills", but they work:thumbsup:

There are several around. Talk to a few, check thier reputation and go for it. Bottom line is if they can get you a withold, and no points, regardless of the "court cost" (yeah, the courts going to wring some out of you too) or the cost of the attorney, if it's reasonable, I'd go for it:thumbsup:

Neats the hell out of jacked up insurance premiums for the next 3/4 years!

I'd hold the driving school in abeyance for a more severe infraction.

Shadow, over here if the attorney asks for a withold and school is ordered it seems to usually come out of their 5 "clerks election" total. The attorney doesn't save them anything here except the time in court. The fees vs the speeders time in court is the only variable. If the speeder has enough cash and has to be at work then the attorney fees are ok. If the speeder is low on cash and can get out of work then they can do the exact same thing as an attorney for less money.

Thanks Shadow and Z06 Rocket, I understand that I can elect my last driving school option on my own, but what the attorney are saying is that the can get the judge to reduce my ticket since my last one was 5 yrs ago and Hillsborough county looks at last 2yrs and most likely they can persuade judge to get a "court ordered driving school" which is different from the one I chose myself, so I get to retain my last one for future use. Thanks for the replies guys.

Exactly:thumbsup:

"Court ordered" school attendance does not affect your elections.

If the attorney can get the court to "order" it with out removing one of your options, and get a withold too, then you're ahead of the game.

Z06 Rocket knows more about Pinellas County than I do so I'll defer to his guideance if it's a Pinellas case:thumbsup:

Thanks guys, I'm going to try the attorney route, their fees and my work schedule and distance justifies it. They assured me that a "court ordered" driving school is different than the one I elect on my own, so I will have one left when I get the c6 ZR1, LOL. Hey I might get lucky and get dismissed. Thanks again guys.
