Won't crank

Had a week crank the last two days and now nothing. DIC was saying service this and that and doors and hatch would not open. About 10 mins later the FOB would unlock the doors. My guess it is a bad battery.

Yeah, that would be my first guess too. Hold old is your current battery?

Dealer said it was new when i bought it about 3 years ago. I got it out of the car and will get a new battery this afternoon. Also the key in the FOB does not seem to work on the hatch. Like it won't go in all the way. I left the windows down that way i am not screwed if everything is dead after the new battery goes in.

All seems fine now. Easy to index the winders as well.

At least you weren't stranded somewhere and not able to start the car.

I used to used Diehard batteries until I learned that they really lived up to their name. They died HARD, rarely giving you any warning until they just fell over dead. At least in my experience.

Lately been using batteries from Advance Auto. They seem to be as good as anything else I have tried.

Lucky after 10 mins my FOB worked to open the door. I gotta find out why the key for the hatch won't work so if i ever do get stuck i can get in the car.

Had the new battery checked at auto zone and they said it had a weak charge. Only drove the car 3 miles so maybe more driving will charge it. Could have set on the shelf a long time. I did remove the Neg cable while the car was running to see if the ALT was working and the car kept running.

I guess car batteries can be like anything else in that sometimes you just get a bad one.

A long LONG time ago I used to work at a Dodge dealership in the parts department, and we used to have to fill the batteries with acid and then put them on a charger before we would release them. They came with the empty battery, and a plastic bag filled with the acid charge. I guess they don't do that any longer. Just as well. I remember once when I cut the filler hose for the acid charge, a squirt of acid shot out of it. Exactly eye level, but fortunately away from me rather than towards me. I wasn't all that keen on playing with the batteries any longer after that.
