Motorplex Park Announced
 

The National Corvette Museum has announced that it has acquired 70 plus acres to be used for the development of an Educational Motorplex Park to be located across the interstate from the Museum.

The Motorplex Park will offer a ¼ mile drag strip, 1.5 mile road track and an autocross/skid pad area. The Motorplex Park will be available for rent to Corvette Clubs for their educational and competitive use and will be an educational facet during NCM events.

Conceptual plans and more information will be announced in August.

This is awesome. I know for a while, the were considering an 1/8th of mile track instead of the quarter.

I'll have to get up there again after it's done..

I sat down and had lunch with Will Cooksey at the beach caravan this past weekend, and this was one of the things we were talking about he said they hoped to have the addition to the museum done by Labor day 2009 and the motor complex well under way by then too.
He said it was also going to be available to rent but ONLY corvette clubs and NCM members were allowed to do so ....:banghead:

Hmm... well if you do museum delivery of your new vette and run it on that 1/4 mile track, does that void your warranty? :hehehe:
