So how is life on the west coast of Florida?
Just got out of a board of directors meeting (6am ugh) and we are undertaking the possibility of relocating to one of three places, San Antonio, TX, Greensboro, NC and the Tampa area. California is just not getting it for us and everyone's families that work for the state.
Right now San Antonio is first, Tampa second and Greensboro last due to the income tax. So if anyone can give me some feed back on the area I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you -Ashur |
Tons of shops, dragstrips, road tracks, etc. in West Central FL. NO state income tax.

Lower wages than most of the rest of the country. A LOT of people retired from the Northeast. (That might be good or bad....depending) Hurricane season (definitely bad) "Love bugs" (UGH) (BAD, BAD, BAD) some of the nicest people you ever want to meet. Slower pace of life than the west coast (and most of the rest of the country). and on and on and on......... Andy Anderson :wavey: |
West Coast of Florida is a daily dose of paradise with no state income tax. Try it. You'll really really LIKE it. Need more info, let me know. I've been a self employed health professional here for almost 25 years.

I've been here all of my 50++ years. Never been to San Antonio, been to California and North Carolina though. If it were not for some of the screwed up weapons law and a state income tax, NC would be a beautiful place to be:thumbsup: Changing seasons, mountains, lakes rivers and oceanfront. But Tampa is home and there a ton to do in and around the area. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, great restaurants, world class sports, entertainment, theatre, opra, blah blah blah.....and racing within a hour or so of downtown in any direction!:D Boating, fishing, oil skimming...ok, that was a shot....no oil yet (fingers crossed it stays that way), tons and tons for the kiddies, adults, you name it, we've probably got it. 2 seasons: 1) Hot 2 HOTTER we do have a winter. usually about a month (+/-):lmao: No inspection, no SMOG, no CARB ref's, no Arrrhhhhnooold...and no state income tax. Lots of automotive goin's on year round as well:thumbsup: Come on down, I think you'll like it. Mark (Thor) and I will show you around (Psst! we know all the best eatin' establishments, right Ninja turtle brother?:D:rofl1:) |

I think a good way to think of most of Florida is like this:
364 days a year of paradise, 1 day a year of hurricane.... :hehehe: |
