The new Star Trek

Really dissapointed! Altho the movie was great, great acting, fantastic special effects...It was a re-run!!! The villian was Khan! WTF!!! J.J. Abrams couldn't come up with an original script? He had to reserect Khan? In the orginal Star Trek TV series Khan Noonien Singh and his "family" was found by Kirk on a stranded spaceship, the Botany Bay. Exciled to Ceti Alpha V was later found in "The Wrath of Khan". So now we are on Kirk's "second" voyage and he runs into Khan? Sorry it doesn't compute. Come on Abrams you can do better!!! :shrug01:

There hasn't been a fresh idea or anything new out of Hollywood for years. It's just the same stuff regurgitated over and over again, then gets served on a different platter.

Well heck, what do you expect when a many of the latest action super hero movies came from comic book series? And now they are even making reruns of rather recent movies. (ie: Total Recall, etc.)

Generally speaking I won't buy a blu-ray movie till the price comes down under $15. The movie will be just as new to me if I watch it for the first time 3 years after it is released, as it would be the week it becomes available. I can wait.....

New and unique ideas for scripts must be hard to come by in Hollywood lately.

And another thing. NEVER buy a movie where the lead actor or actress and the producer are one and the same. This has been the case in many of the worst movies I have ever wasted my time on.

The worst that I can recall are many of the Steven Seagal movies. Then some of the earlier Clint Eastwood bombs (The Gauntlet comes to mind) were real stinkos.

Pretty much drives home the point that many actors are really pretty bad at acting without having someone REALLY competent telling them what to do and how to "act". :hehehe:
