looked at a 06 today

I was driving my 04 Z51 today and noticed a blue 06 A6 at a dealer, so i stopped in for a fast peek.

It had 4000 miles, never really got into details, it was not a Z51 , could have been a f55 or base ride. The car was sure nice looking, but the dealer was asking $45,000, it also had the colored top!

Think that car will be sitting a while at that price.

I agree. There are better deals to be had out there on NEW 'vettes.

Maybe in a year or 2 i will get a used C6, i really love my 04 Z51!

Yeah, I'm getting quotes on '07 base C6s for $41K to $42K. I've seen 05's and 06's having asking prices more than the '07s. What gives with that?

CHASZ51 12-09-2006 09:27 PM

Dealers around here are insane on prices.

Go to www.Gulfview.com and check it out.

Rich Z 12-09-2006 09:35 PM

Yeah, looks like the base 1LT. Except for the funky blue interior panel around the radio that someone put in there. New '07 can be had for less than what they are asking for that '06. :shrug01:

All the dealers around here want way too much for used Vetts.

I think $39000 would be more like it!

You would think car salesmen would do simply market research before putting on prices so they know what is feasible or not. Just taking a look in Ebay for all of the completed auctions for 2005-2006 Corvettes would certainly give them a feel for what are realistic selling prices: http://motors.search-completed.ebay....=22&sofocus=pf

The landscape there is littered with cars that did not sell because the bidders wouldn't meet the unrealistic reserve price. So if someone is going to try selling a car, do the research to see what prices got buyers.

I started out thinking about getting a used C6 for my wife, but after seeing the prices, then comparing a new '07 (which comes with the 5 year 100K drivetrain warranty), it didn't make sense to even consider a used one.

In Sept. I got $7200 off MSRP using GMID on a loaded '07 vert. At the time that was the best deal around. Now I see deals offering $7500-8000 off even without GMS pricing. The bad news is you have to go out of state to get it....FL dealers continue to amaze me. Last time I checked a certain Clearwater dealer had 15 07's on the lot and was only offering $1000 off.:banghead:

Oh yeah. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I am going to be getting a C6 from up north somewhere. Wish I could support a Florida dealer with my business, but facts are facts. Even with the surcharge of plane tickets or shipping the car down here, the prices aren't even close in comparison. Heck I have one dealer offering me $1K UNDER invoice if I can wait until the end of January for delivery!
