A dang FREEZE warning tonight in north Florida

Dag blast it! All the plants are flowering nicely and here we get a freeze coming through (predicted low of 28) that will kill off all the flowers. My peach trees are blooming and even a few small peaches developing, so they are likely history.

The dogwoods and wisteria are just reaching full bloom and will get knocked on their butt as well.

The min/max thermometer on the porch says it got down to 30.6 degrees. Haven't been out to see if any flowers got zapped. Glad the citrus trees weren't blooming yet. They all look pretty ragged from the winter anyway.... Turning the sprinklers on them to try to protect them from a hard freeze was NOT a good idea........ :banghead:

This March is the way March should be, rainy, windy, cold to warm, with many weather changes. The last few Marches have been very dry and warm.

I always said March was the most nasty month out of the year, and so far this March has lived up to it!

Most of the flowering plants look OK, but the new leaf growth on the contorted mulberries really took a hit.

Didn't seem to slow down the mosquitoes much, either. They are out in full force. Only have two of the three Mosquito Magnets running and they are taking a hit on them. Seems like they just exploded the last few days. We got the propane tanks filled just in time to get those Magnets on line...
