Passkey/vats problem

I am having a problem getting my 89 Vette started. The car had been sitting for a few years before bought it. I am not getting any pulse signal to the injectors. I was told to buy a product that will bypass the Passkey system, (before 89 it was called the vats system). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rocky

You can get through this with a custom burned PCM chip. When they are writing a new one, they can simply turn the theft deterrent system off. Therefore, you will not have an extra module to have future issues with. This is how street rods and other swap vehicles are commonly done.

vats is the vehicle anti theft system. its a device ridden with problems and for some reason is still used today. in my old lt1 firebird formula, (are you running lt1 or l-98) i found the wiring diagram in my chilton guide. cut the wire. then i used a volt meter to read the resistance in the chip. mine was 47 ohms. i went up to radio shack and soldered together a few resistors to get 47 ohms. i then spliced and soldered that into the wire and covered the whole thing with a rubber shrink sheild. carefully packed the mess back under the dash and never had a problem with it since. hope this helps

I am running a L98. Thanks for the information. Sorry for the late response back.
