Hey what's up.. My name is Andy, I live in Ft. Myers, FL and have a EB 03 Z06. I haven't ever seen this board until I followed a thread from rich on CF about LG pro's. How long has this site been around? We should recuit some people from other sites or at least make them aware of this one.

Well I only put up this site recently. I've been to various other Corvette sites and found the odd forum or so for local or regional owners, but I figured a site solely for Florida Corvette owners would be an interesting idea. Heck, since I bought my Z06, I found a lot of my questions were targeted towards Florida issues. What laws are we held to? Where are the nearest and best tuners? What events are taking place within reasonable driving range?

I have no idea if this will fly or not, but I'm giving it a whirl.

I actually approached a view of the Florida Corvette clubs and offered them their own form here for their members. So far, no one has taken me up on the offer. Club meetings are fun, but having an online place where you can talk with fellow members at any time, day or night, is where the future is. Maybe if this site gets more traffic they will be more open to this idea.

Anyway, time will tell. Normally it takes people to attract more people, so I expect it will be slow going for a while.

Thanks, I think you have a great idea and i'll do my best to start bringing people over.

Well I don't expect this site to ever get big, which is fine with me. I would rather have a rather small site where we can talk about local issues and interests, and keep things on kind of a personal level. For a while I was beginning to think this site would just be me talking to myself............:) Which is fine, but I find myself arguing with myself too much.

Hmm, first thing I need to do is to add more smilies.......

Speaking of which, if you have any suggestions, throw them at me. I added a photo gallery script on this site which seems to work quite well for people to upload photos from their home computer. A lot of people don't have a photo hosting service available, and in some respects it's more convenient then using the attachment function in the message board itself. Actually, the photo gallery here CAN be used as a photo hosting service for members.

I lease my own servers, so it really isn't any big deal to run this site. Plus I just enjoy doing this kind of stuff. I guess I am a message board junkie at heart.......
