Need advice on Clear Bra by 3M

THOR

Hi Corvette lovers and Merry Christmas, I posed this thread on the maintenace section and got no response. So I am hoping by placing this thread here that it will at least get some notice before it gets moved. I am planning to put on a Clear Bra by 3M on the bumper, part of hood, head lights, and side mirrors, and possibly the rocker panels. Have any of you used this material and if so, what do you think about it and where did you place it? I found a top notched installer from Tampa,Ryan, and his work is practically invisible. :shrug01: :shrug01:

Thanks, Ynkedad for that info. I had planned to cover the bumper, 2 ft. of hood, headlights, mirrors, wheel openings, and rocker panels. Mark

I got this done on all my cars even the Vette (although I used a different installer for the Vette). I think it's great, I don't get any chips like I used to get on my cars. I had them put it on the nose and mirrors but on the Vette I also went with the spoiler, rockers and behind the wheels and even in the exterior door handles. It can get pricey but at least I don't have to worry about every little road thing flying up and chipping the paint.

I will say this...

I posted a question concerning a bra (on the other forum), just before our 7+k road trip this past sept. Some of the responses were... don't tail gate, stay far enough away to avoid flying rocks etc.
Obviously, these replies were from those who didn't like the idea of a bra on a Vette!:shrug01:

Anyway, I wish I had one then, because I was dodging stuff I never would have imagined on the freeways. :banghead:

Since then, i've got some newer dings on the front end and am now looking for a bra myself! Not sure i'll go with a clear bra though.?

Hi Ynkedad, hey you should talk to Ryan who owns Autopaintguard up in the Tampa area. Go on his website autopaintguard.com and give him a buzz. The stuff is practically invisible. Mark
