How to Super Clean Your Windshield with Steel Wool

Brings back memories of my ex-wife decided to clean off some sap from the windshield of my '71 Gran Prix with an SOS pad, Bad idea....

One problem I see with using steel wool is that you have to vacuum every little bit of the metallic residue left from using the wool. Because that stuff will rust, and where ever it lays on the vehicle afterwards could develop a rust stain if it all isn't removed.

I would be hesitant to use it myself, for that reason.

Left scratches on the glass where she scrubbed it. I guess maybe they're not 0000 ought steel wool? Anyway, I won't take the chance again. I wish I still had that car. Silver with a black vinyl top and black interior, Model J with 400 PONTIAC engine. :dancer01:

Much like this one. You just don't see cars this old on the street anymore. That why I like going to the cruises. But the sonic by Lake Jackson closed, that was where the biggest crowds used to go.

I had heard that the Lake Jackson cruise in had gone away. Haven't been there for a while. Too bad, used to be a lot of nice rides there. No one picked up the slack with another get together?

Actually, I had a 1976 Grand Prix myself. Bought it brand new. Had the optional 455 engine in it. Pretty nice car. I believe I traded it in to buy my full sized bronco in 82 or 83.

Looked a lot like the one in the below photo, but had better wheels on it.

This is all I can find. All of the What-A-Burgers used to have cruises on one weekend or another. The one at Island Wings is new but I haven't been there. I no longer have my Caddy so until I replace it I probably won't be going. My F350 has 400 hp and 800 ft/lbs of torque but at 8880 lbs I don't think it would classify as a Hotrod!

Yeah, that calendar isn't showing much for Tallahassee. I went to one of the Cars & Coffee things when it was in the building at what is now the Trans Am place, but honestly, that sort of thing is just not enough incentive for me to get up early and show up there at 8:00am. It's over by 10:00, which is normally still an hour before I'm getting out of bed.

They still have the get together here in Crawfordville on the second Saturday of the month at the Hardees. Not a lot of cars there lately, but still a fair turnout, all things considered. We try to go there whenever we can.

Never attempted to use steel wool on my car. I only use it to remove tough debris that can't be removed when washing dishes/cooking pots. Lol.
