When Connie and I would vacation in Sanibel, it seemed like that transition took place there around the first of June. Could see some impressive storms build up overtop of Ft. Myers about every day when the change happened. And it made our late afternoon strolls along the beach to look for shells kind of dicey since we had to keep a sharp eye for storms sneaking up on us. We would ride our bikes down a sandy road in Bowman's Beach to a much more remote section of beach where the shells weren't quite so picked over. The snorkeling was better there too. That made us have to give ourselves a LOT of lead time if it looked like a storm was brewing. Sometimes we didn't make it, though, and got drenched on the way back to the rental home. Storms seemed to pop up rather quickly there.
