Hey all you Corvette owners,
Does it make you just a little bit crappy when the guy next to you in a little rice burner rev's his four banger and wants to race your 'vette?
Well maybe you won't get to blow his doors off but at least you can get some high speed satisfaction at the RevEXtreme Corvette Challenge, this Saturday the 12th at Bradenton Motorsports park. Come on out and race against your friends, your nemesis, your spouse or yourself !

This is "bracket racing" , you set a fast speed down the track and try to stay within that speed "bracket".

This way you are not beating your car harder each time you run down the track, you are trying to stay close to the time you set as your bracket speed.

This is great racing ! Go to www.bradentonmotorsports.com for more info.

They have an area set-up for Corvettes at the track.

See y'all there....:dancer01:

Hello,Are you still going on Sat.?If so what time?Like to go.Are you running your Vette?I'm thinking about it.Is it still 20$ for 3 runs down the track?Let me know.thanks,Mary:peelout 1: :vette:

I checked on the track website, it looks like gate admission is $10, race card$20, so thats $30 then if you get beat and still want to race it's $10 for a buyback. I am still planning on going but the younguns have things they want to do. Still trying to convince them to come watch the cars race.
The track opens at 9am and racing starts at 10am. If ya'll go I hope to see ya there.

As for the drags tomorrow, you will need a helmet, long pants(i guess coveralls would work), long sleeve shirt or jacket(again, coveralls).

Hey Rob, too bad you guys can't make it, I was looking for a little fun racing with you. I was over on the "other" forum and saw that RevXtreme is doing their street tunes there for $199. I might take them up on that while I am there. I will have Deb take pics and Video so I hope to have something to show.

Later,

..... I'm late to the party, having just-found this thread now, 5 days AFTER the races.....
:ack2:

We had about 18-20 Corvette show-up to compete, ranging from my slow-poke '82, to Dan Bouldry's tube-chassis'd, back-halved C3 that runs mid-9s:
I lost in the 2nd Round of Eliminations, but we'll be back-out @ BMP on Saturday morning, 9 June, for another race in our year-long Series.

As-stated above, a gate-card is $10, and a Tech Card (to race ) is $20, for a total price of $30, which entitles you to a minimum of 2 Time Runs (practice-runs, to see how that particular day's weather is effecting your ET/MPH ), and entry into the race, so even-if you lose 1st Round, that'd be at-least 3 runs:
many of our racers choose to make 2 additional Time Runs with street-tired cars before the races, and I'd think the Staff @ BMP would let you continue making time-runs after losing, until the 3:00 PM break for employees, before the evening race-program.

If any Forum-members need further information about the Series, or about how to get-started bracket-racing, feel-free to send me a PM, or respond in this thread, so others may also benifit.
