Hello,

found this site online and figured i'd sign up. I'm on my 3rd vette right now (i had a couple vipers in between...but saw the light and came back to the vettes) i recently picked up a 2000 c5 with an ls7 427, forged internals...heads/cam car. Im not an expert with vettes so im learning more about them. I know there are a ton of vette owners down here in FL and wanted to get to know some.

thanks for having me.

Josh

:welcome: Glad to see you here. Sounds like you have a pretty interesting ride with that 2000 C5.

I'd be interested in seeing pics of how that engine was put in there. Who did the work?

:welcome: welcome aboard, neat group here with lots of people who remember how to smile and have fun and Rich is right we gotta have PICs.

Again :welcome:

by looking at it...you really can't tell what it has. if anything it looks/sounds like a stockish vette with a cam.

has z06 titanium catback, dynatech smaller headers (need to change them) with 2.5inch race pipe and cats :(...stock air bridge too

car has ALL receipts. car was owned by a 50 year old vette enthusiast with over 30 vettes. he made a ton on his classics etc (even has new z06 modded) and didnt care that he lost $. he said he was just driving this one once a month because of all the others he had. engine was done about 1.5 years ago and doesnt have a ton of miles on it. the car itself has 46k miles. VERY clean, not a scratch on it. only problem is wear on drivers seat...but all c5 interiors are...well...not wonderful (i was spoiled by a c6...which i sold to my next door neighbor...then came back)

Car is tuned by formato. fast intake is hand ported by him. has escalade oil pump, forged internals, crane custom cam, afr 225 heads, 42lbs injectors, upgraded fuel pump. he has every receipt on it and consulted lingenfelter when doing the build. ron davis radiator, 170 thermostat, car had almost 2 days of tuning time. runs ice cold...even with ac on. previous owner used to build race motors before he hit it big in pharmacy biz, so he is VERY knowledgeable on it (i am not so much on american cars) has 4.10 gears, carbon hood, painted etc. real z06 wheels/brakes etc. car is pretty well rounded. bilstein shocks, z06 sways and endlinks. its pretty quiet and at around 85 or so gets 30 miles per gallon on the highway! (i was amazed)

car is getting clear bra'd/tinted today so after i get her detailed next i'll take some pics for here.

im always happy to let anyone check out the car, its alot of fun...just need some more traction!

I think I just had a vision.....wow!! Thats beautiful!

Yellow is one of my favorite colors on a vette (and a couple other sports cars!)

If you really can't stand the yellow, just feel free to park it in my drive. I'll be happy to hide it for you:rofl1:

Very nice writeup and :welcome: to the Forum. I am curious as to what you think of the main differences between a corvette and a viper. Since you've had both, what are your thoughts on this?

:welcome: Josh!

If you are not aware, there is a Corvette show tomorrow at the Toyota dealer at Colonial and Fowler, in Ft. Myers. I have not done this show before but have heard it is quite large. I am taking my '04 Z06 Commemorative Edition to the show. If you come by stop and say hi.

Rich

what time bossman? im teaching the gf how to shoot at the range...then i can stop by for sure if time allows.

(only problem is that my vette will be dirty...oh well)

as far as the vette to viper comparo...
vipers need more hp to go slower.
400wtq at 1000rpms is nice...
the viper has more of an exotic look and i liked that.
the viper sucked on gas.
my c5 is much more comfortable...i really wish i could have a c6z and have the best of both worlds...but at age 24...$ doesnt allow it...

Gary, when i saw your SN i almost swore i saw it on viperalley when i used to post on there. im a car addict too...ironically i sell subaru performance parts for a living...

spiceman, that sounds great. i want to see what its like without the cats and some larger headers. Im pretty sure i've seen pics of that car before it looks great. a local guy here had a dark blue one for a little bit. the car sure is fun! (i was just happy because the price that i picked up the car for...reflected about what it cost to do the motor...not including the car )

Welcome to the forum!
I use to live in Cape Coral and loved it down there.
Your vette is going to stay dirty for a while considering you guys are under water restrictions! that stinks.
I will be in the area in march meeting other members of the forum, let me know if you are interested in maybe grabbing a cold one and shooting the breeze. My boss and I are going down there on vacation and thought it would be nice to meet up with some of our customers while we were there and Maybe some other Corvette enthusiast as well.

thanks for the welcome!

lots of clubs to choose from huh. as long as you guys don't mind me tagging along, i'd like to come hang out. my buddy tony has his company mphparts down here, he has a serious tt c5 z06 but i think he may be getting rid of it for something newer...ill have to ask him to come out, that thing is nuts!
