I think many companies require a sales slip, even in the face of incontrovertible evidence that the sale came from them, because they know darn right well that most people will lose it within 2 weeks of getting home. I'm going through the same thing with a driveway alarm which quit on me. I emailed them back using the online invoice they sent me and they STILL say to send a copy of the paper receipt back with the unit....
