My trial subscription to OnStar is about to expire. For the past two weeks, my home phone's caller ID shows OnStar calls twice a day but doesn't leave any message.
I don't drive the car often, so when I started the car over the weekend, OnStar broadcast a message through the car's audio system that the subscription is about to expire. This message was repeated three times and I couldn't stop it- I had to listen to the sales pitch.
I can't see why OnStar never leaves a message on the phone, but at the same time they force you to hear their pitch through the car's OnStar.
I think this knocks down their reputation a few notches.
