Thumbs down Monsters

Hmm, let's see what the reviews on the cover of the movie say...

Quote:
"The best monster movie of the millennium." - Austin Chronicle
Quote:
"A remarkable achievement ... monsters is not your average alien invasion movie." - Twitchfilm.com
Quote:
"Special effects are jaw-dropping" - Minneapolis Star-Tribune
Seriously? That is the movie that Connie and I waster 94 minutes of our lives on last night? The only thing that will keep you awake during this movie is the anticipation that there MUST be something better in this movie than the part you have already seen. Then when the closing credits scrolls up the screen, you will come to the realization that you have just been HAD. BIG time!

This is one of those Blu-Ray disks that I wish didn't have a hole in the middle so I could at least use it for a coaster for my drinks.

Best I can figure out is that some big money was spent bribing the reviewers because the "special effects" are shoestring budget quality, at best. The "monsters" look like some Halloween costume octopus clad actors blown up to large scale.

Hmm, "millennium" means 1,000 years. Seriously?
Perhaps if this movie had been released sometime in the early 1800s, perhaps that quote might be true. I certainly do hope it isn't implied that this will be the best monster movie in the NEXT millennium!

In short, do NOT waste your money on this piece of crap. The plot is lame, the actors can't act, the special effects are not special, and who ever allowed this to go public really should be flogged to within an inch of their life...
