It would seem logical to me to assume that if a member of a pair of criminals gets killed during the crime and the other partner is then held liable for that death, that a criminal injured during the pursuit of a crime would be therefore liable for their own injuries. But perhaps that is just too logically consistent for the legal system to grasp.....
