I would check the rear drivers side suspension. I recently cut the bushings to lower the rear of my 98 and now have a loud banging sound when the suspension first starts moving after sitting all night. It sounds like a loud pop and it feels like it hits right in my back. You may have something loose back there that needs a little tightning.
