Well I am new here and I do not know if anyone has posted this already so please forgive me if I am not the first to share this tip. I was a car detailer for a car dealership when I was younger. If you are in a hurry and there is not time for a wax job try using (liquid) carnauba wax mixed with the soap water, use less soap since it will lessen the effect of the carnauba wax and dry the car with a cloth; as you dry you will be giving the car an OK wax job at the same time.
Chamois is OK but the results will not be the same. Another good tip is to keep a toothbrush handy, there are a lot of tight places where the washcloth and/or sponge will not fit.
