Most people are afraid of the airbag, but it will not deploy unless that front sensor is activated by a frontal accident where you hit something with the bumper hard. You can always disconnect the battery if you like but sometimes after reconnecting it throws a code for the airbag and the dealer has to clear it. I have done many C6 and C7 airbag R&R without any issues. I did that one in the video at a car show in Cape Canaveral.
On another subject I'm sorry to see that having been away from this forum for a while, there are not many people on here anymore. Sad
