All 96 Vettes could be had with the LT-4 powerplant. Had to be mated with the ZF 6 speed only, no auto.

The C.E. could be had with the LT-1 and auto or LT-4 and 6 speed.

C.E. with the red guts sure are purty.

Your wife would look good in one.;)

Keep us updated...

Here's something from the NCM that confirms what Jack says about the LT-4.

Ok, to confuse you a little more. The Collector Edition (CE) came either in the LT4 (manual) or LT1 (auto). The Grand Sport was LT4 only.

What about convertible Grand Sports? I thought they were LT1's with the same wide rear fender flare etc so it looked the same except the transmission. I thought the LT4's were all coupes.

Nope, as are as I know the GS coupe and vert were LT4 only. Now, as far as the fender flares I'll quote from my trusty black book:
"Convertible grand sport tires were P255/45ZR17 front and P285/40ZR17 rear with no rear fender flares".

Here's a photo of a GS vert (no flare) and GS coupe (with the fender flare).
I got these off the GS site. The coupe looks like a Florida car !

Well I had that all backwards didn't I?
No problem, there are so many options and changes through the model years it's hard to know them all. And, that was 10 years ago, now!
