700r4 rpm shift points

OK, I got this almost figured out. Moving the tv cable towards the carb lowers the rpm at which it shifts - but it also shifts very softly. Move the cable adjustment toward the firewall, the higher the rpm, and the firmer the shift - so where's the sweet spot? What's the ideal rpm for shifting so as not to burn up the tranny? thanks - kip

It controls more than that...it also controls line pressure & if adjusted wrong you will burn that tranny up in minutes. Be carefull!

pressure reading for 700r4

I ordered the pressure gauge set from Bowtie Overdrives, and have read their materials. I understand how to take the test readings the want, but do not know what the desired pressure readings should be in each gear, with each test. Any idea what these may be, if you have possibly gotten a tranny from Bowtie? thanks - kip

Why don't you try calling Bowtie, they should have the readings and be able to walk you through the set-up.
