Default Friends...

Was coming back from dinner tonight, listening to a little country on the radio, and an oldie that I hadn't heard in a long while came on: "You find out who your friends are."

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, and holiday season in general, this one particular chorus made me reminsce:

Quote:
{Chorus}
You find out who your friends are
Somebody's gonna drop everything
Run out and crank up their car
Hit the gas, get there fast
Never stop to think 'what's in it for me?' or 'it's way too far'
They just show on up with their big old heart
You find out who your friends are
...thought about the day I called Qman when the 87 decided to toss a belt in the middle of Waters Ave!

The dudes a firefighter, yet, I gave him a call, in what was probably the middle of his "night", and, without hesitation...with no questions asked other than-"do you have another belt?", he was on his way.

There in just a couple of minutes with tools in hand, drove me to the auto parts store to get another belt, and hung in there as we put it on

The chorus rang so true..."you find out who your friends are..."

..and that's just one instance from this group, of friends helping friends...there are so many more I'm sure

As we approach the holidays, give thanks and

Remember....

Those who fought for our freedoms and the safety of this great country (Thanks Andy, Beepster and all the rest of you vets-I know theres a ton of you on the site )

Remember...Those who stand ready today, to answer the call and work diligently to keep the threat at bay.

Remember...the Law enforcement officers...those who put thier lives on the line daily right here in our own back yard, so we can sleep safe and secure in our homes.

Remember those men and women that risk thier safety when yours is at risk, the firefighters and paramedics, the truly unsung heros of our daily lives.

This is starting to sound like a freakin' Alabama tune!!

Remember...the farmers and ranchers, the truckers, mechanics, warehouse workers and so many others that work behind the scenes so that we may have the things we need when we need them

Remember...FAMILY

and above all....Remember....

FRIENDS.......

From our family to yours, here's wishing each and every one of you a Happy and safe Thanksgiving and holiday season....

Thanks bro...nah, I didn't make it Wanted to go but was up to my ears (as usual) in paperwork!

Nowdays it's not guns and knives, car chases and bar fights. Nooooooo, none of the good stuff!

It's PAPERCUTS that are the hazard of the trade.....

Have a happy and safe holiday and I'll catch up with yoiu soon my friend
