On some forums, this would be shut down about now. On others, it would be met with disdain.

The nice thing about our forum is, we're more like a dysfuntcional family and as such, we're always going to have some things we disagree about.

That said, I know Joe and took his post in the humours vein I believe it was meant

As we all recall, Bush (both 1 & 2 but moreso #2), took a tremendous amount of "Bubba Bashing when he took office and continues to this day to take hits on a regular basis.

For the record, I didn't support Bush or Mr. "O", and wasn't a fan of McCain either! I really thought and still do, that our political choices SUCKED this time around

However, since Mr. "O" was elected, I'm going to take a wait and see approach to the issues and watch what he does or plans to do very closely.

Hutch, you're going to have to face it, Mr. "O" is going to get a LOT of criticism, is going the be the brunt of jokes (humorous or not) and unfortunately, there are still a lot of people that feel he is unqualified to handle the position. Some due to his race (a bad quantifier), others due to his opinions, beliefs and current/former associations, and yet others due to a lack of experience.

Only time will tell

Regardless of all that, lets try to get along, remember that we're ALL Americans (that may come in handy one day) and try to keep a sense of humor about things.

Later gentlemen

Edit: BTW people, just keep this in the back of your mind...."People" are watching.

There have been more threats on this particular president elect than any other according to reports and they folks that do what they do are keeping an eye on a variety of sites and issues. I have a "friend" who is a "watcher." (and if I ever catch him here, I'm gonna ban his ass!) but...reports do go back.

There is going to be more oversight than usual this time around so simply stated... a word to the wise....for warned is for armed

Army Security Agency was a 4 year enlistment, and I was in from August 12, 1966 thru August 11, 1970. Spent time at Ft. Dix - NJ, Ft. Gordon - GA, Ft. Carson - CO, Nam, and Ft. Devens - MA. Tour in Nam started in 67, ended in 68. Fifth of the Twenty Seventh Artillery. Headquarters battery in Tuy Hoa. Firing batteries in various locations. I was not a gunny by MOS. The result was securing firing batteries while they prepared to relocate. Escorting them to new location and pulling security while they set up. Also did this for some Korean units. The details are history and I normally don't talk about them too much. Thanks for your understanding. HUTCH

...just a thought

Please remember that he was elected via the electoral college. That doesn't necessarily equate to the number of votes he actually received.

Bush received his share of "drunken redneck" comments as well. It comes with the territory. As long as the comments or cartoons are done with humor in the forefront, it just has to wear off. If it's anger, hostility or absolutely threatening, then it will go away!

Finally, in case you missed it brother, the terrorist don't care much for our elected prez either

It's going to be tough 4 years no matter what he does....I wish him the best or we all suffer

You are absolutely correct. What you quoted above has been going on for the last six years or so. For the good of our country, I hope and pray that those of us that did not vote for Mr Obama do not pick up that divisive game.

Last I checked, by popular vote it was close, but a landslide by electoral votes. So I sincerely hope that you aren't one of the people who objected to Bush getting elected because of electoral votes. That said, I don't see America banning together simply because you can't bear the sword one day then the olive branch the next simply because things changed to make you happy. The people you brandished the sword at are bound to pick it up out of spite if nothing else...

As for the "watchers", it is my understanding that they can't come and say "hi" unless you make a threat. Otherwise, that would be profiling you because of your beliefs. That is at least the way it appeared to be under Bush, who knows what other presidents will have done in their admin (not a shot at Obama, btw).

You are absolutely correct; however....

There's nothing keeping those vested with that interest from paying more attention to a person or a site as a result.

Also, the "threats" don't have to be absolute. If the agency determines a party to be a threat due to thier actions or comments, then they have the right, no the obligation, to investigate.

Whether or not they say is a whole different ball game

So where am I going with this. Here is where i am going. I find your post to mirror your true inner beliefs. I find you and many others of your political beliefs to be very bad losers. Ones who take opportunities like this to take shots at the President elect and his race.

I would like to profile myself for you so there are no misconceptions.
I am a white male. I was born in the United States. I was raised in a Catholic home by my real parents. I am fairly well educated. I served my country in the US Army and served one tour in Viet Nam. I worked in organized labor for many years and in management for eight years. I still have UNION blood running through my veins and fully support Organized Labor.

There you have it. You may not like it but that is your cross to bear. I cannot and will not vary from my position.

Hutch,
Get a funnybone. It was a satirical comment on modern culture and government programs.

I am sure you found the comments on Letterman and SNL against G.W.Bush hilarious. Tina Fey did a parody of Gov.(R) Sarah Palin. Are you writing a letter to NBC about Tina Fey? I think not.

Ask yourself this... Would you or anyone else have voted for Obama if he had run on his platform of being a white man. He is the "racial issue". He is as much white as he is black, but does he say he is a half white american?
NO !
Barack Hussein Obama has used his "color" and "race" to advance his Political career from day one.

The African-Americans that are truly descendants of early American slaves, get his charade, and would not vote for him because of this. Sadly, thousands of people voted for a man that has nothing more to do with black americans than skin color. That is true "raceism"

You mentioned my "true inner beliefs", well Hutch my true inner beliefs are as follows....

Oh hell, just read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Oh yeah, one last thing...

Congrats on being a "white male", raised Catholic by your "real parents", considering yourself as "well educated", a "Vet" and a "union" man.

Damn Joe, i thought it was funny. then i read responses.
I've seen Kat Williams, Chris Rock, David Alan Grier from Chocolate News, Lewis Black, John Stewart, Stephen Corbert, Leno, Letterman, etc. make worst comments regarding obama. Its comedy.
Look at how comedians over the years have satired Bush, Clinton, Nixon, to name a few.
Again, Comedy.

DVD, I have been pulling for you this far but now you are beginning to confuse me. Sometimes you ramble on with many punctuation marks and mispellings but a few times your comments are well written.

Now you say that you are "white" but in this same thread you tell 98 Softtail and I quote "Wath it there white boy".

In another thread you say.

"Go to "WHOA". In ray's & maybe you'll find the answer to all!!!!....& you have to give the black guy, a chance before you hang him???.......How's that LS2POWA?????? Tell me what you think???? Your vette "PHANTOM" & You know how to get in contact with me???"

So, my question is, "Who are you?"
