Default Powder coating..........

Is there such a thing as "high temp" powder coating? As some of you know my 502 Cheby crate motor valve covers (alum) were blasted and powder coated Cheby Orange after I bought them.

Recently I have noticed that they are showing signs of bubbling in the powder coat.

Engine is running nice and cool but I am getting a little bit of oil up on the covers.

Any thoughts out there? Oh my bad, it is a 454 if that needs stated.

Ken,

Take a look at these too links:

http://www.procoat-pc.com/?gclid=CO-...FRTHsgodAl9BsA

http://www.powder-coat.net/hitemp.html

The latter one seems to answer the question and the top one is a local powder coating shop.

Sounds to me like they were not prepped correctly/completely before they were coated.
Next time you feel the urge to let "Goldie" run for awhile, point her in the direction of
Procoat, and let those people have a look. You get a great ride and professional advice,
"Goldie" gets to stretch her legs a bit, and Procoat gets another potential customer.
Win-Win-Win all around.
Andy
P.S. the gas stations will also benefit.....

Ceramic coating will stand up to pretty much anything, I have ceramic and regular powder coating throughout my motor. Depending on the materials used as a base (there are at least 3) in the powder, some coatings can be really sensitive to chemicals like brake fluid. Just let the powdercoater know where the stuff is going and ask which powders he uses.
