As we begin this new year of 2007, we would like to thank Ernest and Debbie McClellan for the great job they have done for this club for the past two years. Greg Zaiser, we thank you and Jill, too.

We now move on to face whatever 2007 will bring for us. The first challenge is to get our Website up and running. We will need to do that in order to get the word out about what a great club we are. The second challenge is being successful in our upcoming Edison Festival of Lights Cruise-in and Block Party. I know everyone will pitch in and make sure it is a grand show. The third challenge we were about to face was to find a new sponsor to help us continue our club activities and the charitable and benevolent work we would like to pursue. That challenge was met by one of our own members, Gene Suggs, who is the Divisional President for AMERICA’S FIRST HOME builders. He has offered their sponsorship effective immediately. There is only one way to thank Gene and his company.
WE LOVE YOU, GENE, and AMERICA’S FIRST HOME!!

Judy Galewski

Meeting Minutes for January 15, 2007

The meeting was called to order by
Judy Galewski at 7:03 PM.

Judy thanked our previous officers
Ernest and his secretary Debbie
Greg and his secretary Jill for doing a great job for the club.

A motion was made by Dan Irons and seconded by Ernest McClellan to accept the minutes from December 2006

TREASURER REPORT -

VP WAYS & MEANS -

Marshall Lieberman : We have 41 members and 30 cars. Also, Marshall handed out a copy of the members’ list to verify that their information is correct

GOVERNOR’S REPORT –

Bev Dobbins: No report for this month

COMPETITION –

Dom DiBattista went over upcoming events between now and the end of March. There is a listing of events at the end of this newsletter.

The membership approved of sending a membership mailing list with only the following information – name, mailing address and year of Corvette(s) owned
to Eckler’s so that we can obtain “stuffers” for goody bags. Joanne Irons made the motion for approval and it was seconded by Ernest McClellan.

OLD BUSINESS

Judy thanked Eileen & Rudy Nielson and Christine & Sam for inviting the members to their home to watch the boat parade. Everyone had a fun time.

Judy thanked Judy & Bill Galewski for a fun time Christmas Eve at their home.
Everyone that attended the event enjoyed good food and lots of laughs.

Judy thanked the members that attended the Corvettes on the Gulf - Toyota Car Show. We had 11 club cars and one guest car. We all had a good time and are happy to support our “sister” club.

Bev read the thank you card from Karen & Mike Swayze for the wedding gift. We all wish them much happiness and will be missed.

Linda Duschl is working on the Web Site and the site is paid for the next three months.

NEW YEAR’S DAY - Armando & Linda arranged for an outing for New Year’s Day. We had about 12 cars and went to the Gator Hammock BBQ in Felda. It certainly was a unique experience. We did get to enjoy some really tasty BBQ.
A special thank you to Robert Duschl for arranging the parking for our cars.
Too bad some of us left before they started shooting the watermelon!!! Thanks for a fun day and a different way to start the New Year.

NEW BUSINESS -

Everyone agreed that each member will pay $5.00 per sign for new color laminated signs for their car(s). Elaine Rupp thought the signs were classy and that Dom did a great job putting it together.

We have 9 members that signed up to have name tags made. Joan and Dom will be getting them priced and then made.

There are 10 people that signed up for the “Lose Weight Contest”. There will be a first, second & third place winner.

CLUB SHIRTS -

Debbie & Ernest McClellan worked very hard to get our new logo ready for our new shirts. Debbie is taking orders for shirts. Each shirt will cost $30.00. If you did not place your order at the last meeting, either e-mail or call Debbie to place your order and arrange to send your money to her.

GREAT JOB DEBBIE & ERNEST!

Bev Dobbins has offered to bring the beverages to the meeting.
We want to thank Joanne & Dan Irons for handling this thirst-quenching task.

50/50 – Dan Irons has relieved Bill Galewski. Thank you Bill for all your efforts.

We will be preparing goody bags for the seniors at the center again this year. However, we will be planning to start the prep work in the summer. More details will follow.

CORVETTE FORUM -

Armando Sampedro is doing a wonderful job with the Corvette Forum. He is posting our events and keeping us informed about other club events that are coming up. We really appreciate his help and support with the Forum.
