Allstate insured my home and vehicles for many years before moving to FL a few years ago. Allstate continued to insured everything after my move. I started to question my auto premium as my DD was a beater van for which I paid $500+ every six months. I have a perfect driving record, so no problem there. I replied to a Geico promo I received and my premium dropped by half with the same coverage. I asked about my 79 Corvette which has a high appraisal value. They referred me to another company which beat Hagerty by half, same coverage with 3000 mile limitation. Then Allstate dropped my home policy because of the hurricanes. It seems they just want to insure you if there is little risk of your filing a claim. What I'd like to know is what the insurance companies did with all the insurance money collected during the 10 year stretch of no hurricanes?

I can't say enough good things about USAA. If you meet the membership criteria, then they can't be beat. Every now and then, I check other companies to keep them honest..and always stay with USAA. In addition, if their losses are low during the year, they send a "refund" check right around christmas time. Usually about 150.00!

My premium: $553.43 (6 mos) - full comprehensive...$100.00 deductible..stacked uninsured motorist... 100/300/100 30day 900.00 rental reimbursement.

Yes, I have multi car discount and have been a customer for a long time...but still.

I'm sure it will go up next year...My 15 year old son will be 16 and licensed...aaarrgh! gotta find a job!
