Maybe I should set up the video camera to capture my puking when I do that....
Actually the only attempt at a precise tally I have done is from the time the car was at South Georgia Corvette, since I had all the financial records pretty much at my finger tips while I was doing my 2011 taxes.
Expenditures while the car was at South Georgia Corvette (09/17/10 thru 11/18/11):
Code:
10/15/10 - $ 1,000.00 South Georgia Corvette
10/21/10 - $ 3,769.35 RPM Transmissions
11/08/10 - $ 122.49 Pep Boys (trans & diff fluids)
12/28/10 - $ 628.75 Granatelli (valve covers)
02/10/11 - $ 1,000.00 South Georgia Corvette
03/10/11 - $ 1,221.00 South Georgia Corvette
03/25/11 - $ 362.00 South Georgia Corvette
04/11/11 - $ 2,224.96 Jon McGees Auto Service (engine removal)
06/07/11 - $ 230.85 Jantz Performance (throttle body)
07/14/11 - $ 681.56 South Georgia Corvette
07/15/11 - $ 182.00 John Llewellyn (TAC module)
08/10/11 - $ 600.00 South Georgia Corvette
11/01/11 - $ 935.30 Auto A/C Thomasville (AC compressor repair)
11/18/11 - $ 8,899.65 South Georgia Corvette
====================================
Total = $22,486.01
Of which, $14,392.31 was paid directly to South Georgia Corvette.
At some point the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office got Chris Harwood to
refund approximately $5,000 to me for the transmission and differential stuff
he claimed to have installed in my car.
Aaron Scott refunded $2,000, but declined my attempts to recover an
additional $4,000 of the total bill I paid him.
I think this should be pretty accurate, although looking through PayPal statements, credit card statements, and my check book, I may have missed some here and there.
As for while the car was at XtremeMotorsports, I am guesstimating I spent roughly $35,000 there. I gave Harwood a cashier's check for $25,000 originally, plus there was the transmission and differential added in later, plus a bunch of other stuff that popped up during that time. Carbon fiber drive shaft, drive line braces, polyurethane bushing, etc., etc. Heck, maybe when I actually pull the figures together it will be closer to $40,000.
And as for what I spent since bringing the car back home, heck, just wild guessing at around $6,000. Which, of course, does not include my own time and labor. And the fat lady hasn't sung yet as well. The car IS still sitting on my lift, after all, and not even been road tested to see if any more problems remain.
The only bigger ticket expense I am expecting from this point is the tuning. If Ed Hutchings feels he needs to have direct hands on with the car, then that will mean transporting it up to Virginia. Cost there and back ALONE for shipping will be between $1,000 and $1,200. Plus whatever Ed's bill will be. But we're going to take a stab at remote tuning first to see how that goes. Once I get all of the mechanical issues straightened out, of course.
Darn, should have set up that video camera. I feel like I'm going to hurl.... Yeah, Connie and I would have had a LOT better start to our retirement without this going on the past two and a half years. Definitely not one of my better ideas.
