Default Cape Kennedy club patch and STS 133

On the 16th of June, 2012, at 11am EST, the Cape Kennedy Corvette Club (CKCC), of Merritt Island, Florida, will dedicate a club patch that was flown on STS 133, aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery, that will be permanently displayed with the CKCC exhibit at the National Corvette Museum, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in honor of the end of the Space Shuttle era and its’ workers, of all Corvette owners worldwide, of the people of the State of Kentucky, especially for our members of the military, and for all citizens of the United States of America. It is in this celebration as well that we recognize the indelible connection between the Chevrolet Corvette and this nations’ corps of Astronauts and the 50 year plus relationship that places both in the league of legends.

We'll have a caravan beginning the 12th of June (time TBD), working our way towards Tampa, then up I-75, with one night being spent in Kennesaw, GA, and finishing the trip with a three night stay in White House, TN. We'll have a Corvette plant tour scheduled for 10am, Thursday the 14th, with the Plant Manager personally addressing the group...this is a private tour which is longer and more private than regular Plant Tours. The rest of your day after the tour can be spent at the NCM as you see fit. Two road tours are planned for Friday, the 15th, one to Mammoth Cave and the other is the Lincoln Heritage Tour (times TBD). We'll be also dedicating two frame Space Shuttle photos to the Corvette Plant and to the NCM.

If you're a space freak and need another excuse to drive your Corvette a long distance, and would be interested in travelling with us, contact me, Jack Legere, at vettejack03@yahoo.com ... or Pete Johnson at ... tresbon1@bellsouth.net.

If you have friends nationally that would like to participate, please let them know of this even at the NCM. They can meet us there, or, join the caravan at some point! The more people that show makes this event very special.

Dad gum Jack, we'd love to make the trip however we are booked on a cruise from June 18-24. Guess we'll just have to think about the driving fun and you'll have to hear about sun tans and margaritas
