Default 2014 Stingray NEW CAR PREP - CQuartz Finest - Presidential Automotive Detailing - FL

This Stingray came in for a new car prep and Cquartz Finest Installation. The car was in overall great shape, so only a single step polish was needed to bring the gloss level up and prep it for Cquartz Finest Ceramic Paint Coating. Cquartz Finest was also applied to the wheel faces and all glass. Due to a limited time frame, I wasnt able to take too many photos, but here are the few that were worth posting!

What's your opinion of the factory paint job on these C7s compared to prior generations?

The paint is nice, but there is a decent amount of orange peel in them. I haven't taken a meter to one yet to see how much paint/clear there is to work with.

From what I can remember of the c6 model, I think their paint was a bit flatter. With that said, the new body lines of the c7 hide a lot of that and they just look incredible in person!

I looked real close at a C7 not that long ago, and at least on that specimen the orange peel looked a lot less than I have seen on the C5s and C6s. But looking at some of your pics, I can see orange peel on some body panels, but not so much on others.

One thing of concern is going to be all the sharp edges on the body panels. Anyone using a rotary buffer for polishing is going to have to be real careful.

Oh yeah, I'd be curious about how much clear is in that factory paint.

I did notice that some panels were a little worse than others. I certainly used a lot of tape on these cars to protect the edges while polishing adjacent panels. You definitely need to be careful with all the sharp body lines.
