Default My First NCM Visit

Although I was registered to go on the National Caravan, I was unable to do so due to some medical issues. I was however able to get there the following week. Actually, it was nice there that day. We had plenty of time to look around and met some of the staff. Also we watched as a new owner was there to do the museum pickup. So I thought for those that have not had the opportunity to go there I would share a few pictures. Also for those that have been there, there are a few shots that I am sure you have never seen before.

I just arrived when they were moving out the Transformer Vette for a special photo shoot along with these other great prototype Corvette’s. What a great opportunity for a few shots before they stated. We had only a few minutes befire they statred their photo shoot, so I had to hurry. I guess it worked out for the best. A special opportunity to see some special cars and the museum pickup.

I agree, nice pictures. we were there in 06 and want to get back to see the remodel.
Did you take the plant tour or was the plant closed when you were there?

Scav.

Great pics....thanx for sharing! I also want to visit the plant and NCM but intentionally avoided the caravan (not into traffic, crowds, and waiting). I would love to go sometime this fall when I can coordinate a plant tour as well...anyone else interested??

No, did not do the tour based on time. We were stayimg in Gatlinburg and it is a 4 hour drive each way. My wife did not want to drive some of the mountain roads at night, so we had a set time to stay. I had plenty of time to see everything in the museum and stop and shop in the store. Next time I will do the plant tour.
Next time I will make sure the plant is in operation and I want to do the NCM Xperience. I read about it and it sounds great. It is only $350.

That is a good point. I was really disappointed in not making the caravan and all that went along with it, but I will admit that the museum is nice when it has the normal daily croud instead of a few thousand people.
While we were paying for all the stuff we bought in the store, we asked how it was during the caravan. They had extra cash registers running over and above the ones in the store itself and the lines were snaked through the store. We simply picked up stuff and took it up to the counter left it and went looking at more items. It was great.
I want to go back next year and do the plant tour and the NCM Xperience. I read about it and it sounds interesting for only $350. Check it out on the museum web site.

Thanks for sharing your awesome pics. I especially like the Corvette from Transformer movie and the yellow one for the museum delivery. I assume the yellow is a GS. Very nice.
I did a museum delivery for my 07 and it was worth every penny. The folks there take great pride and you leave feeling very special and appreciated. Anything you do regarding museum delivery, NCM experience, etc. would be well worth your time and expense.

Actually the yellow one is a Z06 commemorative GT1 ALMS Champion edition.

I guess no one noticed, but look at the Mako picture. Someone is in deep Sh**. The left headlight cover is broken and it appears as though it just happened.
